About Me

I founded C.A.L.M Apothecary from our kitchen, in Cornwall, in 2020. We were lucky enough to have been able to relocate from Gloucestershire, to a lovely little hamlet in Cusgarne, which is approx 6 miles from beautiful Falmouth, Cornwall.

Living in such beautiful surroundings, with wild flowers & lush green fields a plenty, made me realise that I have always had a love affair with fragrances from an early age. I have so many fond memories of my grandparents gardens, with every spare inch filled with almost every flower you can imagine. I love the way that certain fragrances can evoke strong memories & almost transport you right back to a special time or place.

I have always had a love of fragrance & home decor (as lots of my friends can vouch for!), so I decided that as we were having new beginnings in our home life, the time was perfect for a new beginning with my career.

I started making botanical soy wax melts, & soon realised, that I would like to expand my business, to be able to offer my wonderful customers an array of luxury home fragrances.

After making my first candle, I realised there was so much more complexity to it than I had initially thought! Everything from the candle vessel itself, the type of wax to use, the size of the wicks, what fragrances to use..... the list goes on!

Of course, as with everything I do in life, it has to be 100% right, or it is just not happening. I strive for perfection in every aspect of my life (I know how frustrated I can get with this - & I also know how much it can frustrate others!).

After lots & lots of product testing, tears, frustration & finally happiness, I was then able to launch my first candle. I am delighted to have created the perfect recipe for a candle that is sustainably produced, burns cleanly & smells stunning!

My little business has quickly blossomed into an established brand, now being able to offer affordable, yet luxurious interior fragrance & home accessories. We have gone from selling wax melts only, to now having so much more to offer in our range! Luxury Soy & Coconut Wax Blend Candles, stunning Fibre Reed Diffusers, Car Diffusers, Pink Himalayan Bath Salts, Wax Melt Burners, Bottles of Matches & So much more!
